Privacy Policy

1. E-goi has a commitment to protect privacy and personal data

The protection of privacy and personal data is a fundamental commitment for E-goi to the data subject of personal data (also, "data subject") that uses digital platforms and E-goi services. This document explains what personal data we collect, what we use it for, how we treat it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to contact us in order to assert your rights.

2. Who is responsible for the data processing?

E-goi, headquartered at Avenida Menéres, no. 834, 4450-190 Matosinhos, corporate entity 514727420, with social capital of € 20,000.00 (twenty thousand euros), is responsible for the processing of personal data, in the context of the services it provides and in the scope of the GDPR.

3. Data Protection Officer

The E-goi platform has a Data Protection Officer (DPO) who provides information and advice on treatment-related issues, cooperating with the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD). The E-goi Data Protection Officer can be reached at dpo@e-goi.com.

4. What kind of information does E-goi collect?

E-goi collects information in two distinct contexts:

- Anonymous data is stored while the owner of personal data visits the digital platforms, with the aim of improving the operation of the same, including the optimization and prioritization of content;

- Personal data is provided voluntarily by the data subject upon registration or subscription. These are processed automatically, and the information of the data subject of personal data is collected in encrypted form and managed safely in a European datacenter (Portugal).

5. Who is the data subject?

The data subject is the person to whom the data relate to and who uses and/or used digital platforms and E-goi services.

6. Rights of the data subject

The data subject has the following rights:

  1. Right to be informed: E-goi clearly states its policy at the time of account creation and/or subscription;

  2. Right to access and rectification: you can access and edit your data directly and independently, following the "edit" link available in each message we send you;

  3. Right to limit or oppose the processing of your data: you have in each message the possibility of limiting/opposing the processing in the "remove" link.

  4. Right to be forgotten: you can request the full removal of your data by sending an email to privacy@e-goi.com with your identification and a request for removal.

7. Transmission of personal data

The E-goi platform is designed to dispense outsourcing. We have a long commitment to privacy by design, so there is no recurring transfer of data to the outside of the platform. However, E-goi may from time to time transfer data to a country outside the EU with the aim of improving the operation of the platform. In such cases, E-goi will ensure that data transfers are carried out in strict compliance with applicable legal standards.

8. How does the E-goi website and service process data?

1. Information we collect

a) Information collected voluntarily on certain parts of our Websites or Platform. For example, we may ask for your name, email, mobile phone and/or data to identify you in the platform so you can create an E-goi account or to sign up/submit an online form. We may also collect information such as your opinion, occupation, and contact when you participate in events, inquiries or outreach/marketing actions. In these cases, you can always choose to add additional information as an option, and we keep a copy of the data provided in these interactions. The personal information we request and the reason we do so will be clearly stated at the time of the request.

b) Information collected automatically through our Websites: when you visit our websites, we automatically collect certain information from the device, which is anonymized for the the purpose of treatment. The information we collect may include IPs, operating system, browser type, browser activity and other information related to aspects of the infrastructure used and how it interacts with our services/websites. This information can be collected through logs or cookies (see 8.4).

c) Information collected automatically when sending communications (e.g. email, SMS, push, etc): when you receive a message from us we can automatically collect information to identify your interactions with it. The information we collect may include IPs, operating system, browser type, browser activity and other information related to aspects of the infrastructure used, such as mobile operator, time of reception on the mobile phone and type of terminal. This information can be collected through logs or cookies (see 8.4).

2. Use of Personal Information

a) The E-goi platform may use the information it collects for several reasons:

- in the processing of transactions and the provision of E-goi accounts;

- in responding to your requests in order to provide information or access to services when requested by you;

- to manage websites, administration and security systems;

- to improve navigation and platform content/websites;

- to identify problems on servers, networks or IT equipment;

- to provide, operate, optimize and maintain our services;

- to send marketing information, while taking into account your preferences;

- in recruitment procedures, if you have applied for a position in E-goi;

- to compile statistical data about the usage of our services in order to allow a better understanding of visitors’ preferences;

- to conduct research to develop/improve our products and services;

- to customize content on our websites;

- in the execution of a contract or other legal requirements;

In addition, we may combine personal information with other information to provide better targeting and personalization of messages sent by the platform, or a better browsing experience.

3. Public Information and other Websites

a) Social networks and Widgets: Our websites include integrations with various social networks, which may collect information such as IP or use cookies in order to make it work correctly. We warn you that in this case your use is made at your own risk, and no privacy measures are guaranteed, given the technical impossibility of controlling third-party services.

b) Blog: Our websites include a blogging platform. Any information included in the comments is in public domain and can be read by anyone, with total freedom. If you want any personal information to be removed or changed, please contact us for this purpose.

c) Websites of others. Our sites include links to other websites, for which we do not accept any responsibility. We warn you that your use is made at your own risk, and no privacy measures are guaranteed.

4. Cookies

The E-goi site saves cookies (text files) on the visitor's computer, which are used to register and customize the visit. These cookies do not collect personal information and are stored only for a limited time. The recording of our cookies on the computer can always be controlled through the visitor's browser.

These cookies analyze the navigation of the visitors in aggregate form so that we can improve the navigation, present the most relevant information to the visitors and help to understand the performance of our messages. Typically the data collected is anonymized.

Advertisement

Helps in showing personalized ads for each visitor. For example, if you came to our site and showed interest in a certain feature, you may later see an ad about that feature on other websites (e.g. Facebook).

b) Other tracking technologies

The E-goi platform uses technologies similar to cookies, such as pixels ("clear gifs"), in order to obtain a unique identifier. These small graphical elements allow us to recognize that someone has visited/viewed websites or communications sent by us. Complementarily, from time to time, we can also use technologies such as web beacons or others that help us to identify patterns of use/navigation, facilitating performance improvements or creating new features. While you do not have the ability to specifically disconnect each of these tracking technologies, they can generally be turned off by declining the use of cookies, thus preventing their operation.

c) How can I manage the cookies?

Modern browsers allow the blocking and deletion of installed cookies. Choose the browser to see its instructions: Chrome, Firefox, Explorer, Safari, for other browsers consult the respective documentation.

9. What security procedures guarantee the protection of your data

The E-goi platform is designed so that whenever personal information is collected or used, data is encrypted using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. This technology protects data from several risks, such as interception.

E-goi has a Reward Program to incentivize the detection of bugs and vulnerabilities.

All maintenance/interventions and physical destruction are carried out by our employees. The physical location of our Data Center, where we store the data and services available is certified with the ISO / IEC 27001 Certificate of Conformity.

10. How long does E-goi treat and retain your personal data

1. The law determines the retention of data for a minimum period of time, namely:

a) for one year: traffic and location data for the purpose of investigating, detecting and repression of serious crimes;

b) for 10 years: payment details that need to be sent to the Tax Authority.

2. E-goi processes personal data based on legitimate interest, typically to:

a) improve, maintain and develop new technological concepts;

b) guarantee the security of our services and websites;

c) marketing activities of the company.

E-goi keeps your personal data, always in accordance with the CNPD's law, guidelines and decisions or other regulation that might be applicable, until you exercise your right of opposition, right to be forgotten, or revoke your consent. However, all legal and contractual obligations that supersede these terms will always prevail.
